Position overview

Are you interested in learning more about the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) is the world leading coating resins company? allnex is looking for Process and Occupational Safety Manager to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with government regulations on process safety and occupational safety, while adhering to allnex's SHE policies and standards at the Drogenbos site.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining procedures and practices related to process safety, occupational safety, emergency response, crisis management, incident investigation, SHE audits
  • Communicates and follows up with government agencies, external organizations, and authorities relating to process safety and occupational safety matters
  • Ensures the site is aware of newest regulations and initiates actions to maintain compliance and develop and coordinate training programs when needed
  • Be a part of safety committee: participation, preparation, reporting
  • Creates a culture focused on SHE and Quality, in particular process safety and occupation safety – builds this awareness throughout the site
  • Provides guidance and recommendations from a (process) safety perspective on investments and continuous improvement activities
  • Entrusted with the responsibility of updating and maintaining all essential regulatory documentation, which includes safety reports (SWA-VR, OVR) and ATEX-related documentation
  • Uses SHE tools like process reviews, root cause/ corrective action techniques and auditing tools to enhance problem solving and improvement activities and drives employee involvement
  • Is a‘preventie adviseur Niv1’ and part of the ‘interne preventiedienst’ for the complete Belgian legal entity
  • Responsible for safety reporting, management systems, certifications, product evaluation, SHE support to manufacturing personnel, emergency response plan including spills, fire, and injuries, as well as audits for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supports SHE capex and SHEQ expense budget
  • Participates and leads PSM activities and SHE related audits, and closure of any findings as necessary

Required skills and experience

  • Must have 3-7 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or industries with equivalent safety profile
  • Must have a vested interest for chemical processes and SHE
  • Thorough knowledge of process safety and occupational safety
  • Must have experience in local and regional SHE related regulations
  • Experienced in interaction with auditors and regulating officials
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management, HAZOP studies etc. and root cause analysis skills

Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Safety, Health, or Environmental field is required
  • Legal certificates : “Preventie-adviseur Niveau 1” and “Milieucoördinator A or B” (or willingness to obtain within a reasonable time frame)
  • ISO 14001 and ISO45001 certification experience and management processes
  • Language: fluent Dutch, French and English required
